A vehicle that has been imported from Japan will display the odometer and speedometer reading in kilometres. In order for the vehicle to display at what speed the vehicle is travelling at in MPH, a speedometer chip is used. This then shows what speed the vehicle is travelling at in MPH, as opposed to KMH.
